On April 25, 2015 and again on May 12, 2015, Nepal suffered from 7.8M and 7.3M earthquakes, killing more than 8,000 people and injuring a further 19,000. A result of the earthquakes was the flattening of entire villages, including temples and monasteries. Project HARTwork was proud to be one of the co-sponsors, and donated hand carved wood sculptures, sand paintings, and original artwork from their team of artists of Goree Island, Senegal.
We believe there is a need to break out of old systems, institutions, and ways of thinking by creating positive alternatives that empower people mentally, physically, and emotionally. Project HARTwork participates, sponsors and collaborates with local, national and international organizations to educate communities about the tragedy that is human trafficking.
Project HARTwork is a non-profit organization that partners with artists from around the world, seeks to facilitate the sale of fair trade art, to educate others about the terrible effects of human trafficking, and to support organizations that fight human trafficking and support survivors.
